We are having our cocktail hour on the patio and dinner and dancing in the banquet room of the golf club.
The Cocktail Hour
The flute and guitar duo will play during the cocktail hour. The bar will be open, and there will be a finger sandwich and seasonal fruit display.
The patio tables with be covered in white linens, with small fabric squares and bouquets of bright pink, light yellow, and white paper flowers.
The Reception
The banquet room is adjacent to the patio. It has a wall of windows that provides a view of the golf course.
We have chosen Night Music to provide the music during the reception. David will be our DJ.
We are renting white chair covers and dark pink satin sashes. We are getting our chair covers/sashes from "I Do" Chair Covers in Toledo because they are more reasonably priced than companies in Columbus, and my wonderful mom and her fantastic friend, Linda, are putting the covers/sashes on for me before the ceremony to save labor costs. I cannot thank them enough!
The Menu
We had our tasting with the head chef at Bent Tree recently, and everything was delicious! Here are the dishes we will be serving:
- Baby Greens Salad with Crisp Apples, Candied Walnuts, Cheddar Cheese, and Raspberry Vinaigrette
- Pretzel Crusted Chicken with Honey Almond Sauce
- Strip Steak with Mushroom Fondue Sauce
- Roasted Asparagus
- Roasted Redskin Potatoes
- Fresh Rolls with Whipped Butter
On the left is the menu card, which will be tucked into a folded light yellow napkin at each place setting, similar to the picture on the top right. We're serving a buffet, so I thought it would be nice for guests to know what to expect. I ordered the menu cards from Vistaprint during a sale. They are called Rack Cards. Good instructions for folding the napkins into pockets can be found on Crafty Smurfette's blog.
We're having an open bar, along with iced tea, soft drinks, and water. We'll also have a champagne toast.

The Cake
it will look similar to this, with wider ribbon
We had our cake tasting at Short North Piece of Cake, and everything was delicious! We decided on white cake with raspberry filling, white cake with almond cream, and chocolate cake with hazelnut cream. Our cake is going to have four tiers, with a light yellow ribbon encircling each tier. It will be covered in white buttercream icing with Swiss dots. It will have light yellow and bright pink roses and other flowers on top, and will sit on a square hammered silver pedestal.
Centerpieces
Half of the tables at the reception will have flower centerpieces done by our florist. These will be in 5x5 square glass vases lined with lemon slices. More details can be found on the Flowers page. For the centerpieces that are not floral, we are continuing the lemon theme! My hometown, Toledo, is the home of Libby Glass, and there is a Libby Glass Outlet store. We were able to get 3 sizes of glass cylinder vases there. We are filling the cylinders with lemons (some whole, some cut in slices, and some cut in half) and attaching a fuchsia grosgrain pink ribbon from Michaels around the center of each. Three white votives from Hobby Lobby will complete the look. I love them! Plus, they will smell amazing. I hope to buy the lemons in bulk from a produce supplier or perhaps Costco.
The glass cylinder vases are available on my For Sale page.

Table Numbers
Here are some of the table numbers I made for the reception. The frames are from Michaels ($1 section) and the lemon paper is from a scrapbook store. I used my Cricut to cut out the numbers. If we end up having 20 tables, the frame number 20 will be horizontally oriented to accommodate the size of the numbers.
Table Design
Here's a virtual mock-up of what the tables with lemon centerpieces will look like.

Favors
For our favors, we are doing a cookie buffet. My future mother-in-law is ordering a bunch of cookies from a local bakery where she lives, and other ladies will be making family favorites for it as well. I can't wait to see them all!
We bought these bags for guests to take the cookies home in from Papermart. I love this bag because it can actually be sealed shut, and you can see what is inside through the plastic window. We ordered these custom labels from an Etsy seller to brighten up the bags.
I made a COOKIES sign for the buffet. It is available on my For Sale page.
