All Things Paper

I love scrapbooking and crafts, so I knew I would really enjoy working on the paper elements of my wedding.

Save the Date Postcards

Our first paper item was our Save the Dates.  We didn't want to spend a lot of money on our STDs, so we made them using Vistaprint.com, when they were having a 100 Postcards Free deal.  We just had to pay shipping and an upload fee to load our own design.  If you sign up with Vistaprint you will get email deals ALL.THE.TIME, so never buy anything there full price!  My sister designed our Save the Dates and I LOVE THEM!!  I made the signs we held using cardstock and my Cricut.  My sister took the pictures and then made them black and white and designed the postcard in Powerpoint.  She was going for a photo-strip look.  I think they look great and were so cheap!  We got lots of compliments from guests.

Invitations

I spent many, many hours looking around for the perfect invitation.  My wedding colors, light yellow and bright pink, are not very common, and so I had trouble finding exactly what I wanted.  I ended up finding my invitations at The Green Kangaroo (TGKdesigns.com).  This is the same company that my sister used for her wedding.  The best thing about TGK is that you can customize anything!  My invitation is "Preppy Monogram."  We ordered our invitations in February because that month they had a great promotion with FREE address and guest name printing. So we got the return address on the outer envelope, the guest address on outer envelope, the guest names on inner envelope, and the address for the response card envelope printed for free.  This will save us a lot of time.
The Green Kangaroo recently changed the way their products can be ordered - you can now order pieces a la carte as opposed to in sets.
The customer service at TGK was good, as well.  Light yellow ink wasn't shown as an option for this invitation,  but they allowed me to use it, plus after I already approved the proofs they let me change the address for the response cards when I found out I would be moving before invitations were mailed.  The only complaint I have is that each complete invitation weighs 1.1 oz., which stinks because I have to pay the 2 oz. rate to mail them, and the square envelopes measure over 6 and 1/8 inches, which means they are considered "large envelopes" and thus cost $1.05 each to mail.  Boo.  So pay attention to sizes and keep in mind that your invitation pieces may be over 1 oz.

Ceremony Programs

These programs have truly been a labor of love!  They were a lot more work than I thought they would be (I'm talking hours of work with my sister into the wee hours of the morning and a hole punch-induced bruise on my hand), but I love how they turned out.  I had them printed on 67 lb. white card stock and cut at Office Max.  It was pretty inexpensive, and saved me tons of time (not to mention a printer cartridge or two!).  I would really recommend having your programs printed somewhere instead of trying to print them yourself if you have a lot to do (I had 100).  They measure about 5.5 inches wide and 6 inches high, and have 2 pages inside.  Each program has a square of scrapbook paper on the cover - there are six complimentary fun, bright designs.

The programs for our ceremony will be stored in two of these baskets, purchased at Michaels.  My mom made liners for them out of our fabric.

Place Cards

I ordered fuchsia place cards from Paper Source, and added yellow and white cardstock to them.  They will be arranged on a table in the foyer of the banquet room.
